Scleral Shells

The bulb Scleral Shell is a special type of ocular prosthesis. It is used whenever the eyeball (bulbus oculi) has been damaged by accident or disease such as to cause blindness but still exists though in shrunk condition.

Unfortunately, many people are not aware of the fact that in such cases it is possible to ensure optimum cosmetical results by applying a thin Scleral Shell coating the bulb without any prior operation. As a rule, nearly perfect mobility of the bulb can thus be achieved.
